Without a doubt the food AND ambiance of this restaurant is fun and excellent.  The soup is smooth wnd semi-thick, sweetened with chunks of blue crab meat and asparagus.
I tried their crab salad and was not disappointed! I expected a scoop of salad and maybe acracker or bread, but this platter had generous slices of beets, a hardboiled egg, tomato slices , dish of finely shredded cole slaw. All were freshand tasty.
My granddaughter wanted frog legs, as did I.  There were 6 legs , lightly fried, sweet, tender and juicy with a dipping sauce.
All that food was so generous the I took home enough for another meal the next day.
This is one of my fav stops when exiting the skyline bridge ( Tampa) from Tarpon Springs to Sarasota ob 19 exit.  It has never been a disappointment year after year

Just heard the place was closed down for a second time in a month due to gross health and safety violations!

We had already taken this restaurant off our list due to the very poor service at the bar.   My bf asked for an iced tea and the bartender threw a hissy fit because she had to go to the back room to get it.

This was our first visit to the Sea Hut after driving by the restaurant for years. We were immediately greeted by the smiling hostess and a pungent smell of old, damp building;  we eventually got use to it.

We started with 3-Crab soup which was pretty good. Flavorful, made with real crab (watch for the sharp and still attached claw shell).

For dinner we had the Fried Clams and Fish Taco's which was one of the featured entrees for the evening.

The portion sizes were adequate. However, the clams were soggy and had more fried batter debris then clams. The fish tacos were, well... unique. Two filets of white fish atop flour tortillas and some pitiful shreds of lettuce.

Frankly, the presentation of the meals was good, but it went downhill fast from there.

Our server was friendly enough and reasonably efficient with the exception of the "computer losing the fish taco order" so our meals came out 10 minutes apart. I actually believe him because the entree wasn't listed on the bill but the amount due reflected it.

Apparently the technology was on par with the food. Your basic triple-bogie.

It might have been just an off night for them but we won't be back. It's not worth the risk if this is typical.

What a hidden gem of a restaurant.  If you are a seafood lover like me, you simply mist check this place out.  I wanted to order the spicy shrimp alfredo but my body doesn't tolerate the alfredo sauce too well.  I noticed the menu also had a shrimp scampi in garlic butter sauce so I asked if the chef would be able to pit the spicy shrimp in that sauce.  This dish, also, included mushrooms, tomatoes, and spinach (which was not included in the scampi).  To my delight, the chef accommodated my request and I was delighted with the results.  Two of the waitresses even said they hadn't seen the dish before and wondered what it was.  I told them that I loved it and they were going to give it a try.  My wife liked the grouper sandwich and her cousin tore up his shrimp poboy.  This place is a mist try for seafood lovers and I will definitely be returning when I am in the area.

Extensive menu, food any way you want it sautéed, fried, broiled, baked, grilled, scampi and more. Had pecan crusted walleye, salad, baked potato and margarita. All were very pleasing. Husband had linguini marinara, friends had soft shell crab, scallops, lobster. Everyone delighted.
Easy access. Great personalized service.   Good prices. Recommend.
